In order to make the detector work better, the inductance of the coil should be kept between 100uH-300uH. In the case of constant coil inductance, the number of turns of the coil has an important relationship with the perimeter. The smaller the perimeter, the more turns. Since various metal materials such as cable pipes, steel bars, and sewer covers may be buried under the road, these will have a great impact on the actual inductance value of the coils, so the data in the above table is for reference only. In actual construction, the user should use the inductance tester to actually test the inductance value of the inductor coil to determine the actual number of turns of the construction, as long as the final inductance value of the coil is within a reasonable working range (such as between 100uH-300uH).
When winding the coil, leave a sufficient length of wire to connect to the loop inductor, and ensure that there are no connectors in the middle. After winding the coil cable, the outgoing cable must be made into a tightly twisted pair, requiring less than 1 meter of twisting 20 times. Otherwise, the untwisted output leads will lead to dryness, making the coil inductance unstable. The output lead length should generally not exceed 5 meters. Since the sensitivity of the detection coil decreases with the length of the lead, the length of the lead cable should be as short as possible.
To bury a coil, first cut out a groove on the road with a road cutter. Make a 45-degree chamfer on the four corners to prevent sharp corners from damaging the coil cable. The groove width is generally 4 to 8 mm and the depth is 30 to 50 mm. At the same time, a slot for the coil lead is cut to the curb. But pay attention: the groove must be clean and free of water or other liquids. When winding the coil, you must straighten the coil, but do not stretch it too tight and close to the bottom of the groove. After winding the coil, lead the twisted output lead out through the lead-out slot. In the winding process of the coil, the inductance value of the inductance coil should be actually tested using an inductance tester, and the inductance value of the coil should be between 100uH and 300uH.
